Also, Swift scores the best first-week album sales in a decade.
Country-bred pop star Taylor Swift will tour through an unspecified Columbus venue on May 8 as part of her newly announced Red Tour. This should be pretty entertaining considering she put on an astonishingly good show at Nationwide last year, good enough to crack No. 2 on my list of 2011's best concerts.
Swift's fourth album would not be relegated to second place, though. Red debuted in the top spot after moving 1.2 million units in its first week, a total not seen since Eminem unleashed The Eminem Show in 2002. (That monumental total also managed to bump Kendrick Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d. citydown to No. 2 despite impressive first-week sales of 241,000, the best debut week for a new artist in 2012.)
Though my initial spin through Red's first few tracks was underwhelming, no one can convince me the song embedded below isn't awesome.
