Also: Menomena, They Might Be Giants, The Wailers and much more; plus The Hives are opening for Pink.
Smashing Pumpkins, dressed like regular people
This week we've already heard about Jeff Mangum gracing the Southern and Morrissey rescheduling with the LC. Now many more concert announcements:
The latest version of Smashing Pumpkins will play Newport Music Hall on Dec. 4, and no, it's not a special acoustic Christmas show. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday for $42.
A different kind of recurring punchline/cash printing machine,Matchbox Twenty, will play the Palace Theatre on Feb. 16. Tickets cost $39 or $75, and they go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Bob Marley's old band The Wailers will be at LC Pavilion to perform the classic album Survival in its entirety. Starting at 10 a.m. Friday, you can obtain tickets for just $10.
Quirky cult favorites They Might Be Giants will play the Newport on March 2. Those tix cost $22 and go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday.
I'm pretty psyched about Pacific Northwest experimental indie-pop greats Menomena coming to The Basement Feb. 15. Tickets for that one cost $13 starting 10 a.m. Friday.
Somehow missed this one before: Outlaw country dude Jamey Johnson will be at the Palace this Friday. You can still get tickets for $32.50 or $42.50.
Tickets are on sale now for Flogging Molly at LC Pavilion for $27. They'll be here Dec. 13.
Frequent visitors Yonder Mountain String Band will be back at LC on Feb. 1. Those tickets cost $25 starting 10 a.m. Friday.
Also, in hilarious news, The Hives will open Pink's show March 6 at The Schott. I think it's important to remember what a great contribution The Hives made to rock radio:
