What?! Columbus beer geniuses create strawberry milk stout

The Daily Growler's John Blakely and North High Brewing brewmaster Charlie Davis put their collective beer expertise together and created a strawberry milk stout. The beer will be tapped at 4:24 p.m. Friday afternoon exclusively at The Daily Growler where both Blakely and Davis will be on hand. The beer is in limited supply so don't wait to get your hands on some.

I’ve never drank a strawberry milk stout, but the concept sounds fantastic. (Strawberry milk is far superior to mere chocolate, no matter what my daughter says. She’s only three, what does she know?)

“Charlie and I were just trying to think outside the box. It’s cool to have something no one else in Columbus has,” said Blakely.

Both The Daily Growler and North High Brewing (formerly BRU) opened December of 2012, representing a new wave in the ever-growing Columbus beer scene. The Daily Growler, located at 2812 Fishinger Rd. in Upper Arlington, is a growler fillery and beer bar — pints and samples are also available with growler fills — with 60 taps.  North High Brewing, 1288 N. High St. in the Short North, is a brewery and bar that offers brew-on-premise facilities for those looking to make their own beer.  As Humphrey Bogart once said, “I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”

“There’s no doubt that what Charlie produces is of the highest quality. This will be the first of many collaborations,” said Blakely.
