Columbus City Council approves increase in funds for local art groups

The Columbus City Council made a big statement about its support for arts in the city today when it approved giving $5.1 million to the Greater Columbus Arts Council for programs that support local artists, festivals and events, according the Columbus Dispatch. The nearly $500,000 increase in funds for the GCAC is just one element of the boost the city plans to give to arts and entertainment groups in Columbus.
