More than 35 of the influential realist's artwork to be on tap
The Columbus Museum of Art announced it will showcase more than 35 of George Bellows' artworks this fall, from Aug. 23 through Jan. 4. Bellows, who is one of the 21st century's most celebrated and beloved painters thanks to his every-man subject matter and rich realist scenes, hailed from Columbus. Fun fact: the artists played shortstop for the Buckeyes before he left in 1904 for art studies in NYC. The exhibition, titled "George Bellows and the American Experience," will pull from the museum's robust and renowned collection of Bellows and from private collections across the U.S.
