Drake/Miguel/Future, Vampire Weekend, Franz Ferdinand announce Columbus shows

Two humongous concert announcements this Monday morning, plus a reasonably large one:

First, Drake (who made my favorite album of 2011, and whose third LP Nothing Was the Same is due out sometime this fall) will return to the Schott on Tuesday, Oct. 15 with breakout stars Miguel (who made my favorite album of 2012) and Future (who made the best single of this year so far) as his opening acts. In other words, almost every great song in Power 107.5 rotation right now will be in one place. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. The price hasn't been added to the Ticketmaster page as of this posting.

Secondly, Vampire Weekend, who made my favorite album of the year so far, will play the LC outdoor stage on Monday, Sept. 23 with opener Sky Ferreira. Those tickets cost $35 ($42.50 with fees) and also go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday.

Thirdly — and this is the not-quite-so-humongous-but-still-interesting-one — Franz Ferdinand will play the indoor LC on Wednesday, Oct. 16. Tickets cost $28.50 ($36.35 with fees) and will go on sale at 10 a.m. this Friday as well.
