TOMS taps Powell kids’ book writer as a finalist in social entrepreneurship competition

Powell-based dad Mike Nemeth started BabyDaddyBooks a few years ago after feeling dissatisfied with all the kids’ books he was reading to his daughter. He started writing books for kids but with subtle satire for adults woven throughout. For example, “Daddy’s Favorite Juice: The Bottles in the Fridge that Aren’t For You.”

Nemeth’s business has grown since we last caught up with him, and BabyDaddyBooks’ proposed program CoverForCover has been selected as a finalist in a $50,000 social entrepreneurship competition from TOMS’ founder. CoverForCover would donate a new educational book (not a BabyDaddyBook, mind you, but from a charity called First Book) to a low-income family. The public voting portion of the Start Something That Matters competition has started and ends Friday. Help a local baby daddy out here.
