Daytrotter is an exceptional online radio series in which noteworthy musicians visit a recording studio in Rock Island, Illinois to record unique versions of their songs. There's an interview and a stylized sketch involved too. Lots of famous bands have been featured: Wilco, Bon Iver, Tegan & Sara, MGMT, The Lumineers, stuff like that. (Also: Sheryl Crow?) Quite a few Columbus artists have cut sessions there too, including Lydia Loveless, The Black Swans, Dolfish, Saintseneca, The Floorwalkers and more.
Add two more to the Columbus pile, which hopefully will also be part of the famous pile someday: Daytrotter recently featured Alive Bands to Watch alumni The Saturday Giant and Andrew Graham & Swarming Branch. You have to subscribe to hear the music, with one exception: The sessions can be streamed for free when shared on social media networks.
