It's offically time to get excited for the new host of "Late Show"

After days of speculation that Stephen Colbert would be taking over the "Late Show" for David Letterman when he retires in 2015, CBS officially announced the move. Colbert is currently host, writer and executive producer of "The Colbert Report." Below is a statement from CBS Chairman and CEO Les Moonves on Colbert's move to the "Late Show."

"Stephen Colbert is one of the most inventive and respected forces on television," Moonves said. "David Letterman's legacy and accomplishments are an incredible source of pride for all of us here, and today's announcement speaks to our commitment of upholding what he established for CBS in late night."
