Miranda July, left, in her film "The Future."
Hard to believe our little Wexner Center turns 25 years old. Where has the time gone? To celebrate, the center's planned a range of fall events that have easily stoked our interest, from a special performance by Miranda July to retrospectives of filmmakers Richard Linklater and Terry Zwigoff.
Here's more from the press release:
The season includes a major creative partnership between artist Ann Hamilton and theater director Anne Bogart made possible by a Wexner Center Residency Award; a visit from filmmaker Richard Linklater in conjunction with a retrospective of his films; a new performance by previous Wexner Center Artist Residency Award recipient Miranda July; and an exhibition that debuts a new series by photographer Catherine Opie, an Ohio native who created new work for the center’s acclaimed Hard Targets exhibition in 2010.
These events complement the previously announced exhibition Transfigurations: Modern Masters from the Wexner Family Collection, which features an exceptionally in-depth selection of masterworks by Pablo Picasso, Alberto Giacometti, and Jean Dubuffet.
