Seventh Son Brewing, which was named Alive's first-ever Brewer of the Year in 2016, recently announced ambitious plans for the new year.

This month, Seventh Son plans to break ground on an expansion of its Italian Village brewery and taproom that will enable it to increase both beer production and bar/event space. Included in the expansion are plans for a rooftop patio with a retractable glass roof that will allow for year-round use. Construction is expected to be completed before the end of the year, and the brewery doesn't anticipate any closures or downtime during the process.

In addition, Seventh Son announced plans for Antiques on High, a new Brewery District bar/brewery that will specialize in sour/wild beers and Belgian-style ales. A press release noted it would be a smaller facility "devoted to barrel aging, fermentation, and blending." The space, located at 716 S. High St. and housed in a former antique mall, will also feature a large rooftop patio and rotating food trucks.
