The weather's on the spectacular side again, so why not spend happy hour outside at the lovely Franklin Park Conservatory? That's what I'll be doing @ the Columbus Wine Festival. From 6:10-6:40, I'll be part of an Alive team (including Rebecca Zimmer & Miss Bella) helping to judge sangria recipes on the event's main stage. Doesn't a nice cool glass (or pitcher or pitchers) of sangria sound like just the refreshing thing right now?

Saturday, Cotter's Restaurant in the Arena District is catering a fun-looking party at the Arena Grand at 7 p.m., prior to ascreening of Julie and Julia. Cotter's will be serving free snacks that pay tribute to the tempting food in the movie. I saw the flick at a preview and can testify that Meryl Streep's stunning portrayal of Julia Child made me giggle with utter delight. As for the movie's structural parallel (and sometimes intersecting) track of Julie (played by Amy Adams, who I usually like) blogging about recreating all the dishes in Julia's landmark Mastering the Art of French Cooking, well, I can testify that Meryl Streep's stunning portrayal of Julia Child made me giggle with utter delight.
