Trey Parker and Matt Stone starred in Cannibal! The Musical, a spoof horror movie released by Troma Entertainment. The company hosts a film festival at Studio 35 next weekend.

The “Troma Film Festival” will take from noon until 6 p.m. Sunday, October 21, at Stduio 35, featuring exclusive screenings of four upcoming releases from independent New York City-based production house, Troma Entertainment, Inc.

The festival will include the locally made Coons! Night of the Bandits of the Night, produced and directed by Columbus-born filmmaker, Travis Irvine, in 2005. Other movies featured: Pot Zombies, Yeti: A Love Story, and Special Needs.

Troma will release all four of the movies on DVD by the end of this year. The company is known for distributing cult classics such as The Toxic Avenger and Cannibal! The Musical. The latter was the first feature-length movie by South Park creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

Coons! Night of the Bandits of the Night was made in Ohio for only $5,000 and stars real, dead, frozen raccoons - the first movie in cinema history to do so. [IMDB page] The movie has played in film festivals across the country.
