Dayton adventure group offers young explorers program Five Rivers Outdoor, the adventure arm of the Dayton Metro parks, is midway through a program to get young people out in nature. It runs Thursdays through December 20.

"Participants will meet with a naturalist to learn about Ohio plants and wildlife, explore the creeks and woodlands," says the release. "Club members will reconnect with how to play outside in nature through activities such as rock skipping, following animal tracks, turning over rocks and logs, building forts, and digging holes."

These activities are geared towards kids and their parents, but I'm 26, and this all sounds fun as hell. Doing this stuff was never an alternative when I was young, and I glad to see a solid group of outdoor activists normalize outdoor play.
