Artist: The Besnard Lakes Track: "Disaster" Album: Are the Dark Horse Listen

These Canadians have been showing up on many critics list, so I decided to give them a try. This record is awesome, and its sound is an artful combination of The Beach Boys, the rusty, desolate twang of Duane Eddy and Brian Eno's ambient side. This track showcases the band at its softest -- as if the studio where they recorded were filled with clouds and tufts of down floating from the ceiling.

The best track on the album is "For Agent 13," but it wasn't available for linking purposes. If I were you, I'd go out and buy it.
