(There Will Be Blood)
Nominations for the 80th annual Academy Awards were announced today, and they include a number of outstanding films. My only problem is that two films -- There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men -- are up for eight each. Maybe spread it around a bit more? I know this never happens, but it'd be nice.
Here are some of the more interesting categories:
Actor in a Leading Role George Clooney, Michael Clayton Daniel Day-Lweis, There Will Be Blood Johnny Depp, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street Tommy Lee Jones, In the Valley of Elah Viggo Mortensen, Eastern Promises
Actress in a Leading Role Cate Blanchett, Elizabeth: The Golden Age Julie Christie, Away from Her Marion Cotillard, La Vie en Rose Laura Linney, The Savages Ellen Page, Juno
