The locally grown Old Bag of Nails chain began in Olde Worthington, and that original store is still the one I prefer to visit. It's a narrow space seemingly built to accommodate its lengthy pressed-copper bar plus a few tables that are logical extensions of said bar.

Two Bagger

The locally grown Old Bag of Nails chain began in Olde Worthington, and that original store is still the one I prefer to visit. It's a narrow space seemingly built to accommodate its lengthy pressed-copper bar plus a few tables that are logical extensions of said bar. When convivially cramped, this Old Bag exudes the mood of a true neighborhood haunt. Its happy hour specials are a two-fer, with the usual afternoon times night-capped by specially designated deals honored only from 9 to close (10 to close on Fridays and Saturdays).

Better get a Bucket

The Bag's anti-high-falutin' drink deal for happy hour part 2 is five bottles of Miller High Life jammed into a bucket of ice and sold for a paltry $6 - quaint, ain't it?

Cheap & Easy

If you're left holding the Bag's HHII menu, you'll gladly uncover some characteristically no-nonsense steals, like fine $5 sandwiches - a sloppy but accomplished Philly steak is better than those from many local specialists - and all the Bag's well-executed pubby apps for half-price (try the fried pickles, mini pretzels and top-notch wings and nachos).
