In a voice that sounds like the South's answer to Clap Your Hands Say Yeah (or at least garage rock's answer to Perry Farrell), singer Josh Macero squeals, "When you're screaming my name, I can't say no!" on his band's new LP, Celebration. And as long as Macero's peculiar vocals don't bother you, his band Thomas Function will indeed have you screaming their name in adoration Friday at The Summit. At that point, he and his bandmates will have no choice but to oblige with more of their unrepentantly poppy, British Invasion-inspired, classic-but-not-retro rock 'n' roll.
