Halloween is the only time GWAR's ghoulish costumes and pageantry seem to make sense. And given the horror-themed metal maniacs' penchant for political parody, an election year ought to bring out the best in GWAR. (Heh.) Plus the group's current Electile Dysfunction tour features splendid support from Portland, Oregon, thrash-masters Toxic Holocaust and bayou metal marauders Kingdom of Sorrow, worthy heirs to Pantera. Far be it from me to pimp a GWAR concert, but if there was ever one to attend, this is it. --Chris DeVille
