In what's become as much a New Year's tradition as watching the ball drop, Alive's annual Bands to Watch party at Skully's Music Diner gave music lovers a glimpse of groups that are turning up the volume on 2009.

With temperatures outside well below freezing on Saturday night, fans inside were treated to the hottest music in Columbus from the five honored bands: The Crimson Armada, Couch Forts, Tin Armada, This is My Suitcase and The Main Street Gospel.

What comes next for these great musicians? Adam Scoppa of The Main Street Gospel joked, "I am expecting fame, but not fortune."
