Having such a packed social calendar, it's actually sometimes challenging to keep track of what's going on. Thankfully we received a call from entourage member Joe Price, giving us the dish on last Thursday's must-attend Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation's Black Tie, Blue Jackets fashion show.

Held at the Hilton Columbus/Polaris, the evening raised funds to fight pediatric cancer and featured an early wine tasting, sit down dinner and a fashion show with hockey players walking the runway with Blue Jackets Foundation Heroes. We were honored to sit at a table with John and Jen Scharver, whose son Ethan is a Blue Jackets Hero and has been battling leukemia for three years.

An evening highlight was listening to Blue Jackets Hero Chase Meacham, who beat a rare form of bone cancer called osteosarcoma. Seventeen-year-old Chase has addressed the United States Congress on Capitol Hill to help open the door for additional investment into childhood cancer research, and his moving and eloquent speech left the crowd inspired and deep in thought; though Chase's life was positively changed by his experience, there are still thousands of children suffering from cancer, and it's imperative to keep working until a cure is found.
