This Saturday, the Columbus Young Professionals Club will host its second annual A Date 2 Remember event. The fundraiser for local non-profit organizations A Kid Again and Junior Achievement of Central Ohio raises money by auctioning off dates with current CYP members. Bidders can choose from either one-on-one dates or double dates with couples.

"Last year was such a lively event ... it's such a good time when you get up there," said Kenny Browne, who is part of a couple date with his girlfriend of two years, Suzanne Korner.

CYP members thought outside the box to create for winning bidders some extraordinary nights, more than just dinner and a movie. Some of the dates include: Ben Folds concert tickets and a sushi dinner; a skydiving adventure; and a day racing at Columbus Motor Speedway and V.I.P. tickets to dinner and the 2009 Columbus International Auto Show.

"It is legal and you can go 100 mph," said bachelor Zach Germain, who is part of the auto date package. "I think this is a really great idea."

"Everyone seems to have really awesome date packages. Mine is pretty laid-back and easygoing," added bachelorette Quinn Morlock, whose date involves a trip to Martini Park, the Funny Bone and Gameworks at Easton.

There will also be raffles to win dining gift cards, a night at the Hilton Easton, dance lessons at Fred Astaire studios and more.

"Last year we raised a lot of money and awareness, so people were really excited when we announced this year's event," said CYP founder and President Derek Gresso.

Catering for the evening is donated by Due Amici, Jason's Restaurant & Bar, Marcella's and Martini Modern Italian, with beer sampling offered by Columbus Distributing Company. There will also be three cash bars for cocktail enthusiasts.
