Annie Weihrauch describes her style as "rocker chic."
Job: Product designer for Atrium and founder of Modern Material
Describe your style: "Rocker chic"
Where would you wear this?
Somewhere a little bit dresser - going out on the town or to a holiday party.
What do you like to wear?
I wear a lot of black and gray and white. But I don't like real hard-edge rocker; I like it to be more feminine, with ruffles and lace and a lot of embellishments.
Where do you like to shop?
Forever 21 and H&M are the main places in town, just because it's affordable for the trendy stuff I'll only have for that season. I like to go to Filene's Basement and TJ Maxx, too.
Where do you get ideas?
Magazines - Lucky, InStyle. Online, there's a site called Polyvore.com where you can create your own collage of fashion trends and accessories. It's a lot of fun.
Tell me about Modern Material.
It's my own creative outlet. I have the rock 'n' roll style, which is where my apparel and jewelry fits into; with the paper products, I do more vintage, postcard graphics and stuff. I launched the site, Modern-Material.com, a year ago.
Do you wear your designs often?
I wear the jewelry almost every day. The couture tee I designed, I love that. It's blue with a lace ruffle around the waist.
Who does your hair?
I've been going to Tiffany at Kenneth's for years. A couple years ago, I got it cut so short that it kind of freaked me out. I've been letting it grow, and it's easier to style.
What about makeup?
It depends on what I have at the time. I just tried that new Stiletto mascara. It's shaped like a stiletto heel - which, being a package designer, I thought that was cool.
What perfume do you wear?
Ralph by Ralph Lauren.
