How did you get into bartending?

I came in here to get a drink and [the owner] asked if I bartended. I said no, and he was like, "You do now, you start Wednesday." I just kind of winged it from there. When it wasn't busy, I could kind of slowly start learning stuff.

What do you like about bartending?

You get to interact with great people. It's very rare that I get the a--holes or anything like that. I've been here so long it's like Cheers. It's not mixing the drink ... it's being around people in this environment.

What would you be doing if you weren't a bartender?

I would be a promoter. I throw great parties.

What kind of parties?

They have a lot of parties here at night, but the better ones are the parties I throw during the day. We have our customer-appreciation during the day and happy hour. I have my own separate parties where I take all of my regulars out to lunch.

I just had one in December for my 10-year anniversary and you couldn't find a parking spot. You couldn't move in here at 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

I usually throw the best parties, and with my birthday coming up on June 5 - that one is going to be nuts. That's going to be all day and all night. I probably won't remember anything after 4, but as long as everybody has fun.

Why do you throw customer-appreciation parties?

I just wanted to let the people know they are appreciated for coming in and taking such good care of me. They never give me problems and they're always bragging about me and bringing more people in.

What do you like to listen to when you're drinking?

Motley Crue, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Alice in Chains, Slayer. Those are heavy metal, but I like dance stuff, too. I'll listen to Rihanna and T.I. It's just a mix of everything. I'm into everything but country. I don't want to make anybody mad, but I'm just not a country fan.

Do you have a favorite concert?

The Killers were really good. The Black Eyed Peas were amazing and so was Fleetwood Mac. I cried at Fleetwood Mac because my mom raised me on Fleetwood Mac. We cried the whole concert.
