I actually only own two handbags. That's how I'm able to go after the high-end stuff - I pick staple things, get a good deal on it and use it until it falls apart.

Job: Marketing/communication grad student at Franklin University

Neighborhood: German Village

Hometown: Port Clinton

Label your style: "Edgy sophistication"

What do you like to wear?

I always try to dress kind of sophisticated, but with little accent things.

Where do you like to shop?

Locally, I love Saks. But I actually hit a lot of places that aren't in Columbus and boutiques online, like ChickDowntown.com, ShopBop.com and Net-a-Porter.com. I'm a huge couture bargain hunter. I'm on all the e-mail lists, I find all the deals.

What's your shopping philosophy?

I actually only own two handbags. That's how I'm able to go after the high-end stuff - I pick staple things, get a good deal on it and use it until it falls apart.

You must enjoy the thrill of the hunt.

I think even if I made enough money to afford some of this stuff, I would still do it this way because it's so much more fun.

What inspires your ideas?

I love high-end couture. It isn't about what the celebrities are wearing, it's my style. I've always gotten a lot of compliments, and always had my family asking, "Why didn't you go to New York or Chicago to study fashion?" And life just kind of went in a different direction.

But I did just launch a blog, MidwestCouture.com, and my ultimate goal would be to have a boutique here.

Do you have any favorite products?

C.O. Bigelow is my heaven. Sometimes I just go to Easton to hit their product sink and try new things.
