Red sauce, vino and bocce balls will be rolling with passion, abundance and fun at the Columbus Italian Festival next weekend. The three-day party starts Friday, Oct. 9, and ends on Sunday, but in between there will be molto great Italian food, drinks and bouncy entertainment like an Italian-American Idol singing contest.

The three-day party starts Friday, Oct. 9, and ends on Sunday, but in between there will be molto great Italian food, drinks and bouncy entertainment like an Italian-American Idol singing contest.

New this year, and kicking off the 30th anniversary of the festa, will be a special dinner called Taste of Italy to be held on Tuesday. That night, attendees can mangia mangia to their heart's content from a sampling of terrific local Italian eateries like Scali Ristorante, Moretti's of Arlington, Tony's Italian Ristorante and 11 other top trattorie.

There will also be lots of liquid Italian lubricants on hand, and the more-than-fair fee of $25 includes admission to one day of the festival ($5 value).
