That would be the first Columbus appearance in five years by Cleveland's mostly instrumental metal masterminds Keelhaul. Touting their first new album in half a decade, Keelhaul's Triumphant Return to Obscurity, the band will once again subject this city to its brainy bombast. From mid-tempo melodic numbers to merciless thrashers, it's all built around gnarly riffs that pay homage to everyone from Clutch to Gang of Four.

As if these two bands weren't enough to make Friday's show an event, Columbus heavyweights Black Mountain Creeper are playing a one-night-only reunion.
