No, that's not a person. It's the hair-care line created by Neil Weisberg and Amanda George, co-owners of Beverly Hills salon Neil George, and it recently debuted at C.O. Bigelow at Easton Town Center.
The two flew into Columbus three weeks ago for the line's local launch, offering styling tips to shoppers during a Friday afternoon open house.
The duo, both of whom hail from the U.K. but met in the U.S., opened their Beverly Hills salon in 2005 and count Heidi Klum, Dennis Quaid and Cameron Diaz among their lengthy list of celebrity clients.
Their line includes two varieties of shampoo and conditioner, several moisturizing treatments and a volumizing spray, and is now offered in Limited Brands-owned C.O. Bigelow's four locations: Columbus, Boston, Chicago and Paramus, New Jersey.
There, the line joins a wide selection of well-known beauty lines, topical cure-alls and home scents in a testers-heavy retail space.
"We're a small company growing organically," Weisberg said. "It seemed the right partner for us."
Neil George products launched two years ago, and were originally available exclusively through the salon site. Now, Columbus devotees can get a breath of L.A. air every time they shower.
"We feel like it's got its own little niche within the hair-care industry," George said. "The thing that I think separates it is that Neil and I are both hands-on hairdressers. We're in the salon. We've tested and tested all our products, all the botanicals so many times."
The line will be expanding soon, but will remain focused on healthy hair, George said.
Weisberg and George suggest most shoppers go with the everyday line of shampoos and conditioners unless they feel they need the intense formula for especially dry hair. Everyone should use a moisturizing treatment weekly, Weisberg added.
"Change it up," he said. "When a different chemistry, a different ingredient, goes into your hair, it just makes the hair shiny and smooth and not so dry."
