5. Jeff Buckley, "Hallelujah"

Only the elite should ever eff with Leonard Cohen. Buckley, the son of a cult folkie, is not among them. He replaced the master's lost, baritone yearning and deadpan subtlety with a sanctimonious cry for attention heard by every open-mic amateur in the country. Look for Buckley's debut, Grace, atop an upcoming list of most overrated albums of all-time.
