The Jazz Arts Group kicks off its annual Great American Songbook series this weekend with Spinning Wheel, a tribute to the music of Chicago and Blood, Sweat & Tears. Known for their signature rock/jazz hybrids, the groups dominated both the airwaves and the music charts in the '60s and '70s. Former Blood, Sweat & Tears members Lew Soloff and Lou Marini will team up with famed vocalist Bruce Wermuth and Columbus Jazz Orchestra's Byron Stripling for two nights of reinterpreted classics. Expect selections ranging from "You Made Me So Very Happy" and "Make Me Smile," to "And When I Die" and, of course, BS&T's "Spinning Wheel."
