Being a major American test market, Columbus sees plenty of bars and restaurants come and go without leaving a trace. Others seem to survive no matter what.

Being a major American test market, Columbus sees plenty of bars and restaurants come and go without leaving a trace. Others seem to survive no matter what. These places have tin ceilings and creepy basements, classic stories and noble character worn into hand-carved wood. The Columbus Landmarks Foundation will highlight a trio of durable Downtown watering holes during its Historic Tavern Tour series. Each tour will stop at The Jury Room, Elevator Brewery & Draught Haus and Ringside Cafe, where guides will discuss the history of the buildings and stories about the bars. Tickets, which cost $15, don't include drinks.
