British architect David Adjaye will be in town to deliver the latest installment of the Wexner Center's 2010 Glimcher Lecture Series. The son of a Ghanaian diplomat, the London-based Adjaye is known primarily for both larger works (Denver's Museum of Contemporary Art, the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo), and smaller collaborative projects with everyone from Chris Ofili to Olafur Eliasson. Not shy in advocating lessons Western architects could learn from African cities - particularly the dissolution of public and private spaces seen throughout the continent - Adjaye's lecture promises to offer many insights on a local level.
