This great bar and restaurant keeps 62 beers on tap, rotating in new selections every few weeks while maintaining a base of customer favorites.
The ambitious number of suds spouts doesn't just mean more room for grocery-store lagers. Lounge 62 stocks some of the world's rarest, most delicious beers, with a focus on microbrews and stellar imports.
You'll find seasonal selections like Lagunitas Brown Shugga and Bell's Oberon, as well as stout crafts like Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA and Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar. The list even includes exotic local fare such as Elevator Mocha Plum Stout.
Beer-lovers will salivate as they slowly ogle the beautiful line of taps just beyond a wooden bar accented with strands of rhinestones and high-def TVs. No draft is priced over $6.25, and most are under $5.
Once you have your pint glass in hand, you can remain at the bar to talk with regulars watching sports or saunter into swankier quarters. One of Lounge 62's charms is that it feels like an upscale cocktail bar smashed into a really good sports bar - a pairing that's just right in my book.
There's a row of low-lying tables and cushy high-backed booths, as well as a series of comfortable tables and stools. A new patio is slated to open this weekend, just in time for some summer sipping.
Elsewhere, owners meet their goal of being "an upscale place without the upscale price" by offering a very long weekday happy hour and a menu to fit most budgets. You'll have plenty of pairing options with a full line of small-plate noshes, gourmet pizzas, overstuffed paninis and bar bites with a twist.
