"A lot of times, I wear silver jewelry on one hand and the copper and gold on the other. I get a lot of compliments on that."
Job: Photography and public relations at Innovation Public Relations; hosts "BLAKstar" online radio show
Label your style: "Accessory-heavy and eclectic"
Why does your style work for you?
I'm the person who comes up with a creative way of marketing a product or an event or business, so I shouldn't come in looking like a drone or a robot. I should look like, "She's creative."
I worked in the financial industry for years before, and even in that, I would wear things like these red glasses I love.
What advice do you have for other full-figured women?
Wear clothes that fit. We're scared to wear sleeveless tops and dresses in the summertime, and I used to wear shrugs on top all the time. But it's like, I can see your arms are big through your sweater.
And another thing - if you find something you like, buy it in every color.
Do you have any off-the-beaten-path shopping suggestions?
Bandlu.com is out of Minnesota and has some of the best plus-sized stuff I've seen. I also like missphit.com.
Tell me about your accessories.
A lot of times, I wear silver jewelry on one hand and the copper and gold on the other. I get a lot of compliments on that.
Do you have any favorite products?
Mixed Chicks is the best hair product for curly hair - period. And I don't go anywhere without Blistex Daily Conditioning Treatment and C.O. Bigelow's Mentha Lip Shine.
