The California pop-rockers have been busy touring and working on a new album, due out this year. Let's take a look at what some of the other bands that made up the soundtrack to the summer of '99 have been up to of late.

Lou Bega, "Mambo No. 5"

Where is he now?: The German/Italian/Ugandan's sample-heavy single was nominated for a Grammy, but later got dubious honors as the fifth most annoying song ever from Rolling Stone. Bega's newest album, "Free Again," was released in Europe earlier this year.

Len, "Steal My Sunshine"

Where are they now?: These one-hit-wonder alt-rockers from Canada seem to be kaput. The last blog message posted on their MySpace page, dated 2008, apologized they "just couldn't get it (and everyone) together" to make another record.

LFO, "Summer Girls"

Where are they now?: Broken up! As of 2003, the three-man group behind this gem is no longer together, though Rich Cronin, Devin Lima and Brad Fischetti still have various side projects.

Lit, "My Own Worst Enemy"

Where are they now?: Lit asked to be released from their RCA contract in 2002, and put out one more album on an indie label before drummer Allen Shellenberger died from a brain tumor. They're rumored to be looking for a major label to release a new album.

Ricky Martin, "Livin La Vida Loca"

Where is he now?: The former Menudo heartthrob's first English album was hugely successful in 1999. Martin's continued to release a string of albums in English and Spanish, and has another due out in 2010.

Britney Spears, "... Baby One More Time"

Where is she now?: It seems impossible old Brit has only been with us for just 11 years. A whole lot has happened since her schoolgirl-uniform-wearing video days, and I think we're all pretty familiar with how it went down.
