"Breaking Bad" is the best show on television. Period.

Its strength is in the acting: Bryan Cranston as master meth-chemist Walt and Aaron Paul as his impetuous junkie understudy Jesse bring nuance to their morally challenged roles.

The two leads have always understood their drugs have devastating effects - especially in their own lives - but justified their dealing as a means to an end.

In the penultimate episode, their personal troubles took a backseat when Jesse's brash actions forced Walt (again) to choose between loyalty and business. Walt became "Heisenberg" again and saved the day for now.
