"Blood Into Wine" sounds like an unintentional comedy, a documentary following a rock star's efforts to start a winery in the Arizona desert.

"Blood Into Wine" sounds like an unintentional comedy, a documentary following a rock star's efforts to start a winery in the Arizona desert.

It turns out to be considerably more interesting, in part because the rock star is Maynard James Keenan, the frontman for bands such as Tool and Puscifer.

The mysterious (and wickedly funny) Keenan will be the draw, as well as guest appearances by comedian Patton Oswalt and hysterical interludes with the creators of "Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!"

But the look at an upstart vineyard is just as interesting, particularly the struggles for acceptance that Arizona wine faces. The doc is also beautifully shot, warm and funny. Both rockers and vinophiles will find this one quite entertaining.
