I ha ve an art degree, so I've always tried to make art and get money. I went to Kent State. I painted, and I did photo and printmaking. Those were my favorites. I took a class at the Columbus College of Art and Design on bookbinding, and SpaceDog just kind of took off from there.

The best advice I've ever received came from my mom. I was thinking about whether to quit my job and do my art. She said, "If you can do it, do it, because time has a way of taking things away from you."

I was working as a floral designer. It was kind of crazy. It was always really busy, and you always had to make really big arrangements. It was silk arrangements, so I always had a lot of cuts and burns and poison ivy from the grapevine wreaths.

SpaceDog Studios has been successful. I use a lot of vintage and found materials for the covers, so they're all sort of one of a kind. I've been doing it for about a year-and-a-half full-time.

There's nothing like a really nice sketchbook. I always like to have one that fits your personality or what you're doing or where you're going. I like to paint, draw and glue, so I just made the kind of books that I would like to have.

Three things I can't live without are running, my computer and caffeine.

In my spare time, I like to run. My husband and I, we play soccer in rec leagues. I do dog-training agility. I read. I play some video games.

Something people might not know about me is that I love "Dance Dance Revolution" - and I'm awesome. I have a special mat that cost, like, $300. And I had a legitimate sports injury from playing it.

Before I die, I've always wanted to run a marathon. I always kind of wanted to be famous. I always wanted to write a book, but I don't know what it's gonna be about.
