Channeling the spirit of the original Woodstock festival, Shadowbox will present a special free outdoor performance of their wildly successful "Back to the Garden" at Schiller Park.

In order to fill the more open space, Shadowbox expanded their regular cast by 50 people, including the children of some of the Shadowbox actors.

"When I told her she could be in the show for Schiller Park, I thought she was going to explode from excitement," said Nikki Fagin about her seven-year-old "hippie-obsessed" daughter Kiana.

Choreographer Katy Psenicka said the show's expansion created some new challenges, including redesigning some of the dance numbers to fit the new space and teaching the entire musical to the new cast in only five hours.

She added, though, that all the stress is worth it to produce this special show.

"It just feels right to do this the way it was done in 1969 - under the sun and stars," she said.
