What would you do if you won the lottery? It's the question that keeps the lottery in business.

What would you do if you won the lottery? It's the question that keeps the lottery in business.

The new Bow Wow comedy "Lottery Ticket" is an urban rags-to-riches story that begs the question with predictable but fun results.

Kevin Carson (Bow Wow) lives in the projects with his grandmother. That's the rags. He finds out he's holding the winning ticket in a $370 million lottery drawing. That's the riches.

But it's the weekend, and they must protect the ticket from some gossipy and opportunistic neighbors until he can cash it in. That's the rub.

When it works, "Lottery Ticket" is an affable and often funny urban comedy. Think "Friday" - an excellent Ice Cube even gives a hilarious nod to that flick's signature line.

Some whiplash shifts from comedy to drama and back don't work. But local native Bow Wow is cool and charming, keeping the movie just good enough to buy a ticket.
