Columbus is working hard to cement its status as a gay capital by playing host to the 34th annual Gay Softball World Series. It's a big deal, with thousands of athletes and fans flooding into town to catch the action.

Columbus is working hard to cement its status as a gay capital by playing host to the 34th annual Gay Softball World Series. It's a big deal, with thousands of athletes and fans flooding into town to catch the action.

Gay and lesbian softball teams have been battling it out in Berliner Park all week, leading up to Saturday's championship. And in the evenings, they've been living it up, with parties, pageants, talent shows and a night out at Huntington Park.

On Saturday, the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance will close things down with a huge block party on High Street in the Short North, with Broadway star Jennifer Holliday and the Fabulous Johnson Brothers slated to perform.

Games are free and open to the public.
