More than 4,000 cyclists will spend their weekend traversing the highways of Southeast and Central Ohio to raise money for Ohio State's James Cancer Hospital. As Pelotonia's official website explains, "It is a community of people coming together to chase down cancer and defeat it." The brainchild of James CEO Dr. Michael Caligiuri, Pelotonia 10 launches Saturday morning and continues through Sunday evening, but not before Counting Crows and Augustana play Friday evening's opening ceremony. Riders are advised not to stay up too late waiting for an encore of "Mr. Jones;" the tour starts bright and early at 7 a.m. Saturday.
