It's been a strange road for Freeway. The Philadelphia MC rose to prominence under the Roc-a-Fella banner at the height of that label's prestige, and he recently opened his own label, Free Money, as part of the down-South Cash Money empire. These days he raps for Rhymesayers Entertainment, the Minneapolis indie empire responsible for the likes of Atmosphere, Murs and Soul Position. The man gets around.

Freeway’s first Rhymesayers release is “The Stimulus Package,” a collaboration with Jake One that unfortunately is getting more attention for its incredible packaging than for the music inside. Those who dig past the elaborate billfold design and bang these tracks will be rewarded, though perhaps not as richly as the cash-clip conceit suggests.

Friday’s show also features RNS Entertainment, J Osceola, Big Clizzo and D.O.B.
