If you think country can’t be smart — or smart can’t be fun — have a look at Sugarland’s video for “Stuck Like Glue,” the lead single from the duo’s upcoming “The Incredible Machine.”

The single is forward-thinking on its own merits, a nifty little love song that slides from clean-cut country pop into something like dancehall reggae and back. Its video takes a cute, catchy and adventurous track and turns it crazy, casting singer Jennifer Nettles as a psycho stalker on the hunt for Ryan McPartlin, aka Captain Awesome from NBC’s “Chuck.” Hilarious hijinks ensue.

This kind of creativity bodes well for the steampunk-inspired stage show that comes to Nationwide Arena next Thursday. Little Big Town and Randy Montana open the show.
