All of a sudden, Wye Oak rocks. Yet the more rollicking songs on the "My Neighbor/My Creator" EP retain the eerie atmospherics that characterized last year's softer, darker triumph "The Knot."

They don't get as much hype as fellow Baltimore combo Beach House, who mine similarly melancholy territory, perhaps because Wye Oak sounds less like art and more like pop. But this band deserves your ear too.
