Creaky country bridges always give me chills thanks to "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." I imagine there's a headless horseman on the other end just begging to make me roadkill. Someone, presumably a well-meaning teacher, read the tale in a poorly lit room around Halloween when I was a kid.

Ah, the power of good storytelling. It's the highlight of this year's Art of the Harvest autumn celebration at Wild Goose Creative. Professional storytellers Lyn Ford and Frank McGarvey will share tales certain to induce spine tingles. The night also will showcase bluegrass music, poetry and plenty of fall culinary favorites. And, of course, camaraderie for my fellow scaredy-cats.
