With classic and cult horror flicks plus costumes and scream contests, Grandview Theatre's 24-hour horror marathon is the perfect way to get into the Halloween spirit.

This year's scarefest includes a 100th-anniversary screening of the original "Frankenstein" short and James Whale's iconic 1931 version starring Boris Karloff, as well as Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" and William Castle's "13 Ghosts." Overnight, expect rare 35mm viewings of the 1932 "Island of Lost Souls" and David Cronenberg's excellent "They Came from Within."

There'll also be a special guest appearance by Kevin O'Brien, director of the cult-comedy short "Night of the Living Bread," who'll discuss and present his film.
