Best Non-Traditional Use of Cranberries

From the 11/18/2010 edition
Jeni's Oakvale Young Gouda with Vodka-Plumped Cranberries

'Tis the season for these tart, red berries, but please don't cave and buy canned cranberry sauce. Instead, celebrate them by trying a scoop (or three) of the newest addition to the Jeni's lineup. Made with gouda from Oakvale Farmstead in London, Ohio, and cranberries soaked in Columbus' own small-batch Oyo vodka, this locavore treat tastes rich and delicious, like cheesecake in ice cream form. And those cranberries cut through the richness perfectly.
