There are many ways to party the night before The Game, but none will rile you up like the Hate Michigan Rally, a rock extravaganza hosted by Wolverine hatecore combo The Dead Schembechlers.

There are many ways to party the night before The Game, but none will rile you up like the Hate Michigan Rally, a rock extravaganza hosted by Wolverine hatecore combo The Dead Schembechlers.

The Buckeye faithful will gather at Skully's Friday to pump their fists to anti-Wolverine anthems like "I Hate Michigan," "Bomb Ann Arbor Now" and "Rodriguez is a Weasel" - an affront to what frontman Bo Biafra calls the International Wolverine Conspiracy.

"It's a crazy-ass thing to attend," Biafra said. "I think you've got to swim in Mirror Lake once in your life. You have to attend the rivalry in person. And you've got to attend the Hate Michigan Rally."

The event will double as a going-away party for Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez, who Biafra expects to be fired after three years of futility: "three seasons and a cloud of dust." It also marks 20 years for "The Best Damn Punk Band in the Land."

During that time, Biafra realized his calling as a prophet of Lord Woody Hayes. The band didn't perform last year, Biafra said, because Hayes commanded him to wander barefoot throughout Ohio.

"He reveals himself to me in the form of the sacred burning couch of Woody," Biafra said. "He speaks to me from the flame."
