While revenge flick "Faster" may be a hit, it's never going to be confused for anything of value. This picture is nothing but a generic action flick featuring a C-grade cast of actors looking for a quick paycheck.

Screenwriting brothers Tony and Joe Gayton have crafted such a lazy story that they never actually bothered to give their main characters names, opting instead for labels like "Driver," "Cop" and "Killer."

The movie opens with Driver (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) getting out of prison and starting his quest for revenge against the men who killed his brother and shot him in the head.

His scheme draws the attention of Cop (an almost comically awful Billy Bob Thornton) and Cicero (Carla Gugino), a pair of police detectives who serve as little more than a device to expose the cryptic backstory of Driver.

But it's the subplot of Killer (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) that makes the least sense. Killer is a wealthy, bored playboy who moonlights as an assassin for hire and is inexplicably trying to kill Driver for a mysterious client.

The film's only silver lining is original music from a slumming Clint Mansell ("Requiem for a Dream"), and that's definitely not worth the price of admission.
